Awesome Art Series: Sculpture by Baron Charles Marochetti

I often look at great art, and just any old art that I like - as I suspect we all do. Often, with my interior design clients, the subject of “Art” has a weird way of translating as an un-spoken default of “a painting you hang on the wall”. When this happens, I know that I need to begin the process of showing and teaching about the wonderful, and deep reach that various forms of art, different media can come into play. Mobiles, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Light Projection Images, and so many unique and hard-to-define artworks out there. Often the need for 3-D is needed with all the 2-D wall paintings can be.

Here below is a very fine statue, helped along by being mounted on a fine plinth base. So often, my Client does not already have the best accessories for a finished room - perhaps too small, or not enough of a “collection” or just not the right look and feel - and so, rather than buying “decorator vases” all around, the opportunity for good art - and in this case not “on the wall” art - can really be a great answer.

The size of this work at about 60” high overall, is great to place and stand-alone, and let the scale just speak for itself. Here, the graphic nature of the solid black might be awesome against a window, or stunning in front of a beautiful wall covering to really make a statement that a misc. collection of ashtrays or vases would never do.

Would you have a sculpture in your home?
